Ondanks de grote veranderingen is het huis gebleven wat het altijd was: een plek van rust, midden in de natuur, waar je kunt genieten van alles wat Ameland te bieden heeft. We kijken er dan ook enorm naar uit om het huis in 2026 weer te mogen openen voor onze gasten!

In september 2024 zijn we begonnen aan een ingrijpende verbouwing van ons geliefde huis op Ameland. Het was een bijzondere, emotionele stap, want voordat de verbouwing echt van start ging, hebben we het huis leeggehaald en het beschikbaar gesteld voor een brandweeroefening. Het was een laatste moment van waardevolle herinneringen voor ons en een waardevolle ervaring voor de brandweer, maar het was ook moeilijk om afscheid te nemen van het oude huis dat zoveel verhalen kent.
In Harmonie met de natuur
Na het verwijderen van het oude huis begon de bouw van het nieuwe huis al snel vorm te krijgen. De fundering lag al snel en de contouren van het nieuwe huis werden zichtbaar. Het was een spannend moment: de basis was gelegd voor iets nieuws en het werd duidelijk dat het huis, hoewel het van een andere tijd zou zijn, nog steeds perfect zou passen in de natuur van Ameland.

It was a special, emotional step, because before the renovations actually began, we emptied the house and made it available for a fire drill. It was a final moment of precious memories for us and a valuable experience for the fire department, but it was also difficult to say goodbye to the old house that held so many stories.

It was an exciting moment: the foundation had been laid for something new, and it became clear that the house, though from a different era, would still fit perfectly into the Ameland landscape.
